Basterds!

I´m one of the lucky basterds who is going to see Moby tonight!

 Moby is heading for Ghent to open A&Gallery AND his very first photo exhibition Destroyed - which is also the title of his new album/book (out on May 16).

Of course, there is also a little after party where Moby, Fredo & Aeroplane will dj.

Listened to a dj set Moby did @ the Ultra Music festival this year & I just can't wait for tonight!

(I'm not able to upload the dj set right now so you just have to find it yourself, I'm sorry)

Moby is the kind of dj who's not just focusing on making those awfully clean mixes between 2 songs, his assignement is to create a very energetic party with decks, fx, samples & great music!

Man it's been a while since i heard so much energy comming out of a dj set.

To Moby dj-ing is a skill, it's not a computergame!

Dj workshops lagere scholen gemeente Sluis pt 1

Eind 2010 heb ik op alle lagere scholen van de gemeente Sluis een DJ-Workshop gegeven.

De laatste 20/30 minuten konden de kids ook zelf iets inspelen ....... alhoewel er maar weinig kids echt konden spelen.

Geeft niks zei ik, ik kan ook niet spelen,

ik kan geen noot lezen maar toch maak ik muziek.

Speel maar iets in, al is het zo vals als wat, ik heb maar 2 of 3 seconden nodig.

Als er iets tussen zit pik ik dat eruit en de rest gooi ik gewoon weg.

Dat was dus een beetje het concept.

Achteraf zou ik het uitzoeken, knippen, plakken, valse noten rechtzetten, geluiden aanpassen, korte basisstukjes van nummers afschrijven mixen en op internet zetten.

Dacht ik dat ik dat wel in een uur per nummer af kon krijgen...............niet dus.

Er kwam het een en ander tussen, en het duurde wat langer maar langzaam maar zeker komt het af.

Het duurt nu eenmaal even voordat een steentje een diamantje wordt!

Hier alvast de eerste 10.

Het zijn over het algemeen korte stukjes nummer wat eigenlijk de basis van een nog af te werken nummer kan zijn.

Dus je kan er zelf nog zang bij bedenken of iets anders.

De stijlen liggen ook wel wat uit elkaar, de één heeft misschien een soort van Jeff Mills invloed (wat de kids misschien minder aanspreekt) en de ander is misschien een beetje hardcore achtig.

ps. de song van de Golfbreker Breskens moet ik even opnieuw uploaden, deze klopt niet helemaal.

Just Because pt 3.

Just Relaxing :)

Things have been very hectic the last 3 or 4 months, in good & bad ways.
I'm happy to say at this moment the pressure is a little off, & it's time to relax a little............
................................
& finish about 25 workshop tracks (will be posted here), preparing the next party, preparing a media attack-plan for a lot of local talents, working out fresh new ideas for the future, finish rebuilding my bathroom, toilet & Hall, making time for producing tracks for my album, creating my live show with Visual Vibes, ofcourse spending quality time with my girl :)
In other way, I'm just relaxing a little :)
